Commitment

Regardless of whether something needs to be done politically, ecologically or between people – our commitment at educcare goes far beyond day-to-day life in the childcare centre. Here you can find out everything about the projects that move us before, after and during our work.

○  Time for outrage!

educcare

Quality, no ifs. Full stop.

Good quality in childcare centres should be standard in Germany. But the facts are outrageous.

30 years ago, Germany agreed to adhere bindingly to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, since then “education and development” has been a chartered right for every child. But this right is weighted differently in each federal state and implemented differently accordingly, so the quality of childcare centre offered to parents depends on where they live. The resulting social injustice is a consequence from which children and parents suffer equally.

The “Childcare Centre Quality” campaign [Kampagne “Kita Qualität”] supports the consistent implementation of children’s rights. We are committed to ensuring that national uniform quality standards for childcare centres are enshrined in law. That is why we continuously seek exchange with politicians and administrators in order to point out perspectives and contribute our experience. Get involved – use your voice to improve the quality in childcare centres!

Appreciation campaign

educcare

Educators are heroes!

Educators do more than just educate – they are “heart specialists”, “think-tank carers”, “explosives experts” or “high-flying companions” who shape the children’s daily life and enable them to grow up happily and self-determined. Their contribution to raising and educating children not only supports and promotes the children themselves, but also helps parents to reconcile family and work.

Such a contribution to the lives of children and parents deserves not only our recognition, but also yours. Show your appreciation too!

German association of childcare centres
[Deutscher Kitaverband]

educcare

German association of childcare centres
[Deutscher Kitaverband]

educcare is dedicated to setting early education in motion and contributing to the sustainable viability of society. An essential prerequisite for future viability is that every child can exercise their right to early education.

Our childcare centres help us to achieve our goal – and prove that excellent early education is feasible for every child. In addition, we are committed to promoting early education through the “Childcare Centre Quality” campaign [“Kampagne Kita Qualität”], professional articles, intensive further training for educational staff, and networking with like-minded people.
So, we co-founded the German association of childcare centres [Deutscher Kitaverband] in 2018. It connects independent, childcare centre providers and gives them a voice at both state and national level. We are working actively, along with the association, to ensure that this group of providers has equal rights with the large, established provider associations and to improve the general conditions for early childhood education.

Sustainability

& Ecoprofit

educcare

The Cologne Ecoprofit project
[Projekt Ökoprofit Köln]

We want to review and deepen our previous commitment to sustainability, ecological responsibility and social justice by means of the Ecoprofit project. We are convinced that we are economically most efficient when entrepreneurial thinking goes hand-in-hand with responsibility towards the environment and socially just compensation. We have already integrated green electricity, sustainable nutrition and efficient use of resources into everyday life.

Exchange with the local municipality and other regional companies will show what potential still lies within us. The Ecoprofit project encompasses all our business units because we want to set a good example to everyone, from children to long-standing employees.

Doing business sustainably is part of our corporate philosophy and is anchored in our guiding principles.

Great place to work

Great Place to Work®

Our childcare centres are only as good as our employees – and our employees can only be as good as they feel and can flourish with us.

The satisfaction of our employees is very important to us, which is why we regularly ask them about the quality of their workplace. Every two years we take part in the independent Great Place to Work® Institute’s competition. Our working methods have been validated every time so far: with every participation since 2012 we have been voted one of “Germany’s 100 Best EmployersTM”  in succession.

To receive the award, the GPTW Institute uses two methods to test the quality of the workplace: employees are surveyed in detail and anonymously about the workplace culture they experience. In addition, the management leadership and personnel work, and the workplace culture are described in detail in the culture audit and demonstrated with numerous practical examples.

More important than the award, however, are the valuable feedback and suggestions with which we can continue to improve cooperation and working conditions. We keep moving – after all, so do our employees!

Unesco Projektschule

educcare

UNESCO Associated Schools Network (ASPnet)

As with the UNESCO associated schools, education at educcare also stands for education in international understanding, interculturalism and participation. Two of our childcare centres in Stuttgart and Karlsruhe have therefore been appointed “recognised UNESCO associated schools” on behalf of all educcare childcare centres.

It takes several years and an application to the UNESCO headquarters in Paris to become a recognised associated school. Only after careful examination and approval by all authorities does the applicant school receive a certificate and may from then on call itself a “recognised UNESCO associated school”. The certificate is signed by the UNESCO Directorate General.

UNESCO’s goals are playfully integrated into everyday life in the childcare centres and the directives are implemented jointly by children and educational specialists.
